My Father Cigars: A Family Dream Realized
The story of My Father Cigars begins with Jose "Pepin" Garcia, born in Cuba in 1950, into a third-generation tobacco family. At just 11 years old, young Pepin rolled his first cigar, sparking a lifelong passion that would eventually reshape the premium cigar industry.
After spending forty years in Cuba perfecting his craft and achieving the highest ranking as a Class 8 Master roller, Don Pepin left for Nicaragua in 2001 before settling in Miami. In 2003, he opened El Rey de los Habanos, a small factory in Miami's Little Havana, with a vision to recreate the full-flavored Cuban profile he knew so well—but using Nicaraguan tobacco instead.
The brand truly came into its own in 2008 when Pepin's son, Jaime Garcia, developed the original My Father blend. By 2009, the family opened their state-of-the-art My Father Cigars S.A. factory in Estelí, Nicaragua, and the Garcia family's dream became a thriving reality.
Today, My Father Cigars operates three factories across the García Family Industrial Park in Estelí, Nicaragua, El Paraíso, Honduras, and their boutique Miami facility, which employs twelve expert cigar rollers trained personally by Don Pepin. Together, these operations produce cigars across 24 brands, each embodying the family's unwavering commitment to excellence and quality.
